Notes

Whew! November was rough on writing! However, I'm not too upset with these numbers given the circumstances. I'm a foster parent, and we took in our first placement at the beginning of November. Honestly, I didn't think my word count would be this low after adding a new member to the family, but there has been a lot to do. We have tons of appointments, we had to figure out schooling, and we've been doing a lot of driving. It is an adjustment (and one that my wife and I are excited about), but it has forced me to rework my writing schedule. I've found some ways to sneak writing in already, but it's still a work in progress.

Because of this, I'm considering dropping back to one chapter release a week. If I do this, I'll warm you in the comments of the recent chapters, but I'm still on the fence. The main reason I'm considering it isn't because my backlog is diminishing. It's because the last thing I want to do is let the quality of the story suffer because I'm forcing myself to go faster than I'm able. Either way, it would be a temporary change until I sort things out enough that I can commit to a faster schedule again.

Another thing that didn't help my word count this month was getting Issue 1 of Sprig ready for release in print and ebook. It was a lot of work, and although I usually worked on it after I had written my daily words, it kept me from writing extra words that would help make up for the missed writing days. However, I'm happy to announce that all of the edits are done and the final files have been sent. Now I am just waiting for a proof to come in the mail before I can approve and publish it.

At the beginning of 2019, I decided that I was going to write a book this year, and I feel I've completed that goal in two different ways now. I've written over 100,000 words (longer than the average length of a novel) and I'll be releasing an actual physical book in the next few days. I'm extremely excited to get my copy after all of the work I've put into it, and I hope you enjoy it too! I'll be making another blog post when it's live, so stay tuned for more information.

Although November wasn't great for the word count, I'm happy with the things I accomplished this month. Happy Thanksgiving everyone, and thank you all for reading! It means the world to me!
