Sprig is Finished! What's Next?

# 390 2 - 3 mins. 1

It's finally here! The end of Sprig. It's been a long road, but the story finally came to a conclusion last month. This was a massive achievement for me as Sprig was my first full story, and I'm really happy with it.

It was definitely a learning experience. Before I wrote Sprig, my experience with writing was entirely college papers, journalling, and short stories here and there. While I know Sprig is far from a perfect story, I think it turned out really well and I'm proud of the end result. I'm excited to see what I can do with my next story now that I have all of that experience under my belt.

For those of you who like data, I started Sprig on March 30th, 2019, and completed it on November 24th, 2022. That's a total of 1,336 days, or 3 years, 7 months, and 26 days, from start to finish. I wasn't actively working on it all of those days—I did take some breaks as life events came up—but I was always thinking about it and I never gave up on it. The story now stands at 321,152 words and 136 chapters. If you were to compare that to the average novel, that's over three novels worth of story.

So, you may be wondering what's next. To start, I will be working on bringing Sprig to print. Book 1 is already available in Paperback, Hardcover, and eBook in my shop. I am currently working on the editing for Book 2 and have about 10 out of 50 chapters finished. Once I have the editing done, I'll make the cover, format it, and release it probably in January of 2023. Then I'll move on to Book 3, which I hope to publish by the end of March 2023.

And, of course, I have plans for more stories as well. I'm throwing around some ideas right now and am not ready to share any details just yet. But if you don't want to miss the start of my next story, make sure you subscribe to my mailing list. I also plan on doing more blog posts. I'll be posting updates once a month so you can keep track of my progress, and I have some book and movie reviews that I plan to share as well. Thanks for following along, and have a great holiday!
